  1. What is a Traditional (off-line) sale?

    Traditional (off-line) sale refers to a Yard Sale, Garage Sale, Antique Sale, Moving Sale, ...
  2. What is a Single Item (on-line) sale?

    Single Item (on-line) sale refers to on-line listings that have no foot traffic. Depend upon the seller's preference, buyers can communicate their interest in an item via e-mail, phone calls or the web site's messaging system.
  3. How to list a Yard Sale, Garage Sale, Antique Sale, ...

    If you are a member, follow these steps:
    1. Logon to the members' area
    2. Click on the Place an ad link located on the left side of the page
    3. Complete the form (your address and contact information is pre-loaded on the form but you can change them for your sale)
    4. Review your listing
    5. Submit your listing by clicking on the Submit button
    If you are NOT a member, listing a Yard Sale, Garage Sale, Moving Sale, Antique Sale, or ... is a two-step process:
    1. Click on the List Your Sale at the top of any page
    2. Complete the form
    3. Review your listing
    4. Submit your listing by clicking on the Submit button
    5. Check your email for Listing verifiction email
    6. To verify your listing and make it searchable, click on the Listing Verification Link on the email OR get the Listing ID and Passcode from the email and go to the http://www.yardsaleportal.com to verify your listing. You will enter this information into the boxes titled Listing Verification at the left side of the home (welcome) page.
    NOTE: Please note that if you are a member and you use a non-member method to list your sale you will need to go through Listing Verification Step. Using method one eliminates the need for verifying listings as they are automatically verified.

    To list a single item follow these steps:
    1. Logon to the members' area
    2. Click on the List an item link located on the left side of the page
    3. Complete the form
    4. Review your listing
    5. Submit the listing by clicking on the Submit button or click on the Back button to make corrections
    NOTE: If you are including a picture of your item, you need to enter the picture file name in the Picture box (or select a file by clicking on the Browse button), and make sure that you click on the Upload button (next to the Browse botton) before previewing your item.

    If you are not a member to cancel your listing go to Manage Your Listing page.
  6. How to modify a Yard Sale, Garage Sale, ...

    If you are not a member the fastest way to modify your listing is to cancel and re-list it. Alternatively, your can submit a Help Desk ticket with changes you need to make in your listing.
    To submit a Help Desk ticket follow these steps:
    1. Click on the Help Desk link at the bottom of any page
    2. Complete the form
    3. Submit the form by clicking on the Submit button
    NOTE: You should receive an email from us confirming your help request within one hour. If you did not receive this email, it is most likely that your ISP/spam blocker has blocked our email to you or the email has been forwarded to your Bulk/Junk email folder.   7. How to modify a Single Item sale (online sale)...

    To modify a Single Item sale follow these steps:
    1. Logon to the members' area
    2. Click on the Listings -> Active link located on the left side of the page
    3. From the list of active items click on the Checkbox corresponding to the item you want to modify
    4. Click on the Modify button
    5. Make the changes on the form
    6. Review your listing by clicking on the Review button
    7. Submit the listing by clicking on the Submit button or click on the Back button to make corrections
    NOTE 1: If your original listing included a picture it needs to be resubmitted when modifying the listing.
    NOTE 2: If you are including a picture of your item, you need to enter the picture file name in the Picture box (or select a file by clicking on the Browse button), and make sure that you click on the Upload button (next to the Browse botton) before previewing your item.

    To cancel a Single Item sale follow these steps:
    1. Logon to the members' area
    2. Click on the Listings -> Active link located on the left side of the page
    3. From the list of active items click on the Checkbox corresponding to the item you want to cancel

    To inform others that you already sold your item follow these steps:
    1. Logon to the members' area
    2. Click on the Listings -> Active link located on the left side of the page
    3. From the list of active items click on the Checkbox corresponding to the item you want to mark sold
    4. Click on the Sold button
  10. My Yard Sale, Garage Sale, Moving Sale, ... listing does not show up when I search the listings...

    If your listing does not show up when you search the listings it is because you have not verified your listing. To verify your listing follow these steps:
    1. Check the email that you used when listing your sale for an email with Listing Verification in its Subject line
    2. Click on the listing verification link OR OR get the Listing ID and Passcode from the email and go to the http://www.yardsaleportal.com to verify your listing. You will enter this information into the boxes titled Listing Verification at the left side of the home (welcome) page.
    NOTE: If clicking on the link did not work for you, copy and paste the URL into the Address box of a browser window

    To add a picture to a Single Item sale follow these steps:
    1. Logon to the members' area
    2. Click on the Listings -> Active link located on the left side of the page
    3. From the list of active items click on the Checkbox corresponding to the item to which you want to add a picture
    4. Click on the Modify button
    5. Enter the picture file name in the Picture box (or select a file by clicking on the Browse button)
    6. Click on the Upload button (next to the Browse botton)
    7. Review your listing by clicking on the Review button
    8. Submit the listing by clicking on the Submit button or click on the Back button to make corrections
    NOTE:The picture must comply with the following specifications:
    • File type: .gif or .jpg
    • Size: not exceeding 25kb (25000 bytes)
    • Dimensions: 320x240 pixels at most
  12. What can be advertised on www.yardsaleportal.com...

    You can practically advertise anything on yardsaleportal.com. The items could be in these categories:
    Antiques, art, cars, books, clothing, shoes & accessories, collectables, computers, electronics, crafts, DVD, movies, music & video games, entertainment memorabilia, furniture, health & beauty, homes & garden, houses, jewelry & watches, land, musical instruments, pottery & glass, sporting goods, tools, toys, other items. NOTE: Adult-oriented items, sexually explicit items, and the like cannot be listed. Please refer to the User Agreement page for further information.
  13. I cannot login to the members’ area...

    There are several reasons for not being able to login to the members' area:
    1. You have not verified your membership.
      Once you submit the membership form you should receive a Member Verification Email from us. You need to follow the instructions in this email to verify your membership.
    2. Invalid username and/or password
      If you do not remember your User Name and/or Password please read the answer to I have forgotten my username and/or password...
  14. I have forgotten my username and/or password...

    If you have forgotten your password, follow these steps to have your user name and password emailed to you:
    1. Go to the Members Login page by clicking on the Members Login at the top of any page
    2. Click on the Forgot your password? Click here... link
    3. Enter the email address (or user name) that you used to submit your membership into the User name/email box
    4. Click on the Email my password to me... button
    NOTE: Once the last step is done, you will receive an email from us containing your User Name and Password. The following is a list of reasons why you might not receive this email:
    1. Your ISP/spam blocker has blocked our email to you
    2. The email has been forwarded to your Bulk/Junk email folder
    3. You have not entered a valid User Name or the Email Address you provided is not in our database
    4. You have attempted to sign up for membership more than once
    If you believe that the information you provided is correct, please submit a Help Desk ticket for resolving this issue.
  15. Our emails don't reach you...

    There are different reasons for not receiving our email communications. Some of them are as follows:
    1. Your ISP/spam blocker has blocked our email to you
    2. The email has been forwarded to your Bulk/Junk email folder
    3. You have not entered a valid Email Address

    To remove your email address from the sales alerts email list go to the unsubscription page.
  17. How to know if a Help Desk ticket is replied to...

    If you have submitted a Help Desk ticket follow these steps to check its status and see our response:
    1. Click on the Help Desk link at the bottom of any page
    2. Click on the To check the status of a Help Desk ticket that you had already submitted, please click here... link on the left side of this page
    3. Enter the Ticket Number that was provided to you when you submitted your ticket
    4. Enter the Email Address that you used to submit the ticket
    5. Click on the Submit button
